Hello readers!! I hope all of you are doing well, thank you all for all the support you have been giving me. If you have any suggestions, ideas or just something positive to write, feel free to write it in the comment section below. Today I have brought to you a comparison between two movies and a web series! All three of them are based on a true story and interestingly, on the same event that took place in India in 2008. It was a famous event, but unfortunately, not an event anyone who has experienced it would like to remember. I am talking about the brutal terrorist attacks that took place on 26th November in 2008. Terrorists from Pakistan arrived in the city of Mumbai with a sinister plan in mind. There were 10 of them and they attacked over 12 places. The places which were worst hit were- Oberoi Hotel, Palace Hotel, Chhatrapati Shivaji terminal, Leopold café and Cama hospital. Over 175 innocent women, children and men were brutally murdered. These attacks lasted for four days. At the end, the NSG was able to flush out and kill the terrorists. The lone survivor was taken in custody for interrogation and then was given a death sentence. Many brave police officers, hotel and railway staff lost their lives. There are many movies and web series made about this event. For this blog, I have chosen 3 of them which I thought would fit the top three. I will review and rank all three of them and you will know the best to watch.
Let's get started!
Mumbai diaries

A lot of you might have heard about this web series as it was recently released on amazon prime video. Mumbai Diaries focuses on how the doctors at Cama hospital in Mumbai. The name of the hospital was changed to Bombay general hospital in the movie. It shows how the doctors at the hospital handled the situation when they had to treat a lot of patients injured due to the attacks in different places. The situation got worse when two terrorists attacked the hospital. It is very thrilling to see how the doctors treated the patients and tried to survive in the hospital until help arrived. The series shows us how no doctor from the entire staff stepped back from doing their duty. It will definitely hold you to the edge of your seat. It also shows the bravery and intelligence of the police guarding the hospital. Even Though the story revolves around the activities within the hospital, there are parts in between which show how the guests were rescued from the Place hotel by its brave staff. There are a total of 8 episodes in the series, each of about 40 - 45 minutes. Each episode is more interesting than the other. If you want to watch this series, be ready for a lot of violence. There is a minus point to this movie that there is a lot of harsh and inappropriate language used. For this, I would not recommend it for people below the age of 14.
Hotel Mumbai

When the terrorists decided to attack the Palace hotel, where a lot of foreign and rich guests stayed for a luxurious time, they created havoc and a sense of terror among the guests and the staff at the hotel. A lot of people were killed and a lot more injured. The story revolves only around the attacks which took place in the Palace hotel. It is commendable that when the attacks happened, none of the hotel staff tried to escape the hotel. They had the motto of ‘Guest is God’. Such bravery and dedication is not easy to find in the world. The movie shows how the staff tried to rescue their guests and help them to escape the terrorists. The staff knew the layout of the hotel well then the police, the staff assisted the police to help them find possible escape routes and find the terrorists. This movie is extremely gripping and worth a watch. Of course, there is a lot of violence in this movie too, but there is no strong or harsh language used. I would recommend this movie for people above the age of 12. You can watch it on Zee5 app.
The Attacks of 26/11

Unlike Hotel Mumbai and Mumbai Diaries, which focus only on a few parts of the attacks, Attacks of 26/11 is a movie which covers a wider area of the events. It gives an account of the attacks that happened in Leopold café, Palace hotel, Cama hospital, Chhatrapati Shivaji terminal. It also gives a detailed account of how the terrorists arrived in Mumbai. It majorly shows the involvement of the police in handling the situation throughout the places where the attacks took place. It is definitely gripping and interesting to watch but it has a lot of use of strong and inappropriate language and there are a lot of gore and violent scenes. Some of the scenes might be frightening to some. This is a big minus point to this movie. I would not recommend this movie for audiences under 15 years of age.
You can watch it on Vodafone play or MX player if you wish to.
The winner is……….

If we do a fair comparison, according to me, Attacks of 26/11 should be placed last in the list as it has the use of the most violent, gore scenes and strong language. The amount of violence and harsh language used in the Mumbai Diaries is lower than that in Attacks of 26/11. I would place Mumbai Diaries as number 2. As the result now is clear, Hotel Mumbai is for the win as it has the least violence compared to the other two and no use of strong language. It might not matter to some people, but in my opinion, overuse of strong language spoils the movie experience and no one would like to see a lot of blood while trying to enjoy a movie. If you have a different opinion, mention it in the comments below!
Today’s Melody
Today’s melody is a sweet song from the movie Jodha Akbar, called Khwaja mere Khwaja. If you are looking for peace and positive vibes, this is the song for you!! Also, I am so sorry for not recommending the music at the end of the previous blog, Writing the story made it slip out of my mind!
