For the soldiers.

I am a soldier, born from this soil.

I was not born to sleep, I was born to toil.

The only time I get to hear from my mother, are all the letters in my bag,

The next time she sees me, I might be wrapped in the tricolor flag.

I think of my country before any others,

I am the son of my country first, second my m0ther's.

I left my car to my brother, my wife crying at the door,

I gave it my all, when my country needed more.

My last words shall be my battle cry, my last step in the war,

I would fight till my last breath, I swore.

A soldier is not one who carries a gun,

It is them who give the country a thousand blessings but for themselves, without expecting one.

I have wounds, I took a bullet to my chest,

To serve my country, not to be the best.

A thousand soldiers lying dead, Not one shot in the back.

Their courage wins wars, even if the bullets they might lack.

They fight for their soil, each and every grain,

The death of those before them, won't go in vain.

I will be buried but never forgotten,

I lie in heaven, not between the bodies rotten.

Tell my mother when I read her letters I cried,

Tell her I did not give up, tell her how I died.
