Sunrise

tranquil talks end, night breaks into colour,
shall I compare thee to a sunrise new,
bringing colour into mine dark cover,
let me wake up as fresh grass, leaves and dew.
soft light and perfect breeze caress my skin,
shall I compare thee to a sunrise new,
who shows itself through the clouds thick and thin,
are you the bird I saw, oh how you flew.
winter mornings do break my steady sleep,
shall I compare thee to a sunrise new,
the winter fire that warms my fingertips,
I feel the embers when you are gone too.
the sky changes colour and so do I,
the day is born anew and so am I...
