I sat under the starry night wondering away,
Looking down at the ground trying to keep thoughts at bay.
What a fool I was to not look at the stars,
Finding peace by thinking is like looking for a needle in hay.
I sat feeling alone, Thinking of the ugly pages stuck in my head's file,
I complained of the ache in my feet after I ran a needless mile,
What a fool I was not to spread joy,
It was all good after I made someone smile.
I sat feeling angry over the frown that I had brought upon myself,
Useless words in an unknown book which I had decorated on my shelf,
What a fool I was to keep the quarrel going,
I made amends and saved my own health.
I sat feeling confused for to do something great for someone,
Should I buy them diamond rings or gift them a mansion?
What a fool I was to not thank them from my heart,
Gratitude the greatest gift desired by our loved one.
I sat feeling worried over tomorrow,
So anxious it started drowning me in sorrow,
What a fool I was to worry of that which is yet to come,
Unsignificant is that at this moment, lying quiet in the dark morrow.
I sat feeling foolish over the mistakes of yesterday,
Thinking of the scene done and dusted in life's brief play.
What a fool I was to dwell on the past,
Soothing rain does not come without clouds gotten grey.
I sat thinking for hours over something worth a minute.
Catastrophic conclusions for a silly situation, why so timid?
What a fool I was to care too much,
How about we live a while, after all there is a set limit.
I sat getting bored of sitting,
Staring into clouds of wool with thoughts knitting,
What a fool I was to not get up,
For I am but a creature here to create, isn't that fitting?
Don't waste time debating over whether the earth is round or flat,
let there be laughs and let there be life, its as simple as that.....
The last stanza is worth remembering for a lifetime 🥹✨️💯
