Hello readers!! I am back with another interesting blog post for all of you guys. I would like to start by thanking you for the heart warming response you all gave for my previous posts. The happier you all are with my posts, the happier I am. Well, you are probably wondering what today’s blog post is about and also, what is wrong with this title. Did I forget the difference between English and Japanese? No! ‘Otaku’ is Japanese for ’Nerd’ , an amazing community of people I belong to. Why did I write it in Japanese in my blog title? That is because in this post, I will review an ‘Anime’ I recently watched. Let’s start by knowing what exactly ‘Anime’ is. Here we go!
What is ‘Anime’ ?

But i will try my best to explain it to you!
Anime is the form of animation that originates from Japan. Anime is the term used to refer to any form of an animated cartoon in Japan. Even Though, anime might be referred to as ‘cartoon’, Cartoon is nowhere near the quality and fan base anime has. Roughly translating into ‘animation’ in Japanese, it’s evolved into something entirely different outside of the country. In the West, Anime has become synonymous with a very specific style of animation. Anime can even be considered an entirely different genre of animated content.Anime has become most well known for its representation of vibrant, outrageous and unique characters in mostly fantasy-themed stories. Similar to the landscape of mainstream entertainment in America, most Anime originates from Manga; basically Japanese graphic novels or comic books. While you may not be into Anime yourself, I’m sure you’ve heard of some Anime, or the mainstream Hollywood adaptations of it, in some form or other.
Now that you know what Anime is, let's move to the main topic of this blog, the Anime review. The anime which will be briefly reviewed today is known as ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’.
Here is a recommendation- Whatever anime you watch, i would always advise one to watch it in English subtitles and original Japanese audio. I have experienced and heard from a lot of anime fans that watching anime in English dub kills all of the fun, but of course, the decision is yours.
The Plot of Jujutsu Kaisen

In Jujutsu Kaisen, all living beings emanate an energy called Cursed Energy, which arises from negative emotions that naturally flow throughout the body. Normal people cannot control this flow in their bodies. Jujutsu Sorcerers are people who control the flow of Cursed Energy in their bodies, allowing them to use it as they please and also to reduce its release.
Yuji Itadori is an unnaturally fit high school student living in Sendai with his grandfather. He regularly avoids the track team due to the time commitment required for it, despite his innate talent for the sport. Instead, he chooses to join the Occult Research Club; due to the freedom it allows him to attend, he goes to visit his dying grandfather in the hospital every day. On his deathbed, his grandfather instills two powerful messages within Yuji: "always help people" and "die surrounded by people". These two ideas seemingly stem from his grandfather's own regrets. After his grandfather's death, Yuji interprets these messages as one statement: everyone deserves "a proper death". He is then confronted by Megumi Fushiguro, a sorcerer who informs him of a high-grade cursed charm talisman at his school that Yuji recently made contact with. He now has to fight evil and prove himself to everyone. Before all of that, he needs to master the art of cursed energy.
The Review
Jujutsu Kaisen, like many other anime, is for teenagers. I would not recommend people below 13 years of age to watch it as it is a bit violent and based on a rather dark supernatural theme. The Anime jujutsu kaisen’s first season is available on Netflix. The second season has not come out yet. Even though this Anime might seem violent to some viewers, it is very interesting. It does not take much time to build up the plot and catch the interest of the audience quickly. The Screenplay keeps you engaged in each and every episode and a well executed adapted manga. The main character’s journey from a high school kid to a sorcerer is aptly put and does not seem slow. The emotional appeal of jujutsu kaisen might not be the best but I would say that it's ok. The plot of this anime is fantasy-like, so there is very little logical consistency but it is still enjoyable. It definitely has a lot of originality in its content. In its serious plot, jujutsu kaisen does not fail to bring a smile to one’s face. When it comes to anime, the intro music is also important as an opening theme sets the tone and introduces the viewers to the shows feel. I loved the intro music of jujutsu kaisen. It's called 'kaikai kitan'. It is now an important part of my playlist. It is an anime worth watching.
I hoped you liked this post. Wait! i have a surprise for you! From now on, each post will have a music recommendation at the end. For today, i will recommend the song- 'Cover me in sunshine' by pink. It is a cheerful and peppy song which will lift up your mood!!

Thank you for reading this blog! Stay tuned for the next one!
