Quick feet and a quicker tongue,

He can't be beat, he is fast, pretty and young.

He had a big punch but he had a bigger mouth,

He finished the bout before the bell was rung.

Straight through fire with his head held high,

If he predicted the round, it would be no lie.

He could float like a butterfly and sting like a bee,

Like a deadly arrow his verses would fly.

Bet against him and you would lose your dime,

To finish up fighters like dinner it took him no time.

A fighter, a hero, a poet,

throwing punches with the twist of a rhyme.

Chest upright, gaze forward and his voice boldly loud,

Look at the young kid carry the fight! Look at the screaming crowd!

" I shook up the world, I must be the greatest " chants young Ali,

Not shy and humble but charismatic and proud.

He chose his faith and earned the name to be written is history,

The source of his unshakable will like his phantom punch remains a mystery..

He can run through a hurricane and not get wet,

His punches an unstoppable blitzkreig.

The champion in the ring and outside as well,

From the Louiseville lip to the people's champion, who could tell?

He fought against hate, fearless and unwavering,

He brought his people back from the gates of hell.

He wrestled with an alligator, he tussled with a whale,

Ali has his eyes on the prize, there is no time to fail.

The witty warrior strikes again,

his destination his god, his gloves his holy grail.

Foreman, liston, Frazier and many alike did not stand a chance,

They were trying to fight a man who was there to dance.

The hands can't hit what the eyes can't see,

Quick as lightining and light in his prance.

When the bell goes ding, its about to be a fight, not a scuffle,

The strongest stood defenceless when Ali came out with the shuffle.

The man, the myth, the legend,

The greatest.... the rumble in the jungle..

With wings he ascends to the heavenly abode,

Leaves behind the lives he touched,

I try to travel on a similar road,

My destiny in my fists tightly clutched.....
